Carol Lee Ridgeway's Obituary
Decatur – Carol Lee Ridgeway, 80, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Carol was born on September 2, 1944, in Mason, IL, the daughter of Donal M. and Geneva (Smith) Davis. She married Marvin L. Ridgeway on August 31, 1963, in Dietrich, IL. A member of the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, Carol was known as the “Nice Lady” at Cerro Gordo High School where she worked as a cook for 26 years before retiring in 2003.
Carol loved feeding birds, squirrels, and deer in her yard and beautiful flower garden. Hummingbirds and cardinals were her favorite. She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, reading and doing word searches, and all dogs and cats. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was the best wife, mother, and granny a family could ever have.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and nephew Bart Davis.
Carol is survived by her husband, Marvin of Decatur; children: Candy Ridgeway and Karen (Tom) Harrison of Decatur; grandson, Daniel Logue of Columbia, MO; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10 am until the service time of 11 am at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to the Decatur Public Library.
