Carolyn Elliott's Obituary
Carolyn Jean Elliott, 82, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at her residence.
Carolyn was born January 12, 1937 in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Harriet (Buck) Murray. She married Clarence Elliott on June 26, 1954 at her parent’s home in Beardstown, IL.
She worked as a bank teller for many years and was a branch manager for Mutual Home and Savings. She was a member of 1st Congregational Church in Decatur and Beardstown. She was also a Lifetime Member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Some of her passions were attending her church, growing flowers, feeding birds and displaying her pride of being a Lifetime St. Louis Cardinals Fan.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence; son, Murray L. Elliott of Springfield, IL; and grandson, Shannon K. Elliott of Springfield, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill, Norvel “Hap”, Richard, Harry “Butch” and sister, Patsy.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2019 at 1st Congregational Church, 3465 N. McArthur Road, Decatur, IL. A luncheon will follow.
A second Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 18, 2019, at 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, 3rd and Washington, Beardstown, IL. A coffee fellowship will follow.
