Carolyn A. Helm, 64, of Decatur, went to the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 6:25 AM from her home.
Carolyn was born August 11, 1946, in Pontiac, IL, the daughter of Harry and Betty Carlin Swift of Champaign. She graduated from Champaign High School and Illinois Commercial College. Ms. Helm retired from ADM Benefit Department in November 2007 and was currently employed at Hillier Moving and Storage, Springfield.
Besides her parents, Carolyn is survived by her sister, Mary Tom Walsh of Champaign; brother, Thomas Billie Swift of Springfield; daughter, Melinda John Stevens of Mascoutah, IL; grandchildren: Taylor, Bryn, and Emily Stevens; niece, Kelly Walsh of MA; nephews: Dan Michelle Swift, Carlin Walsh, and Craig Samantha Held and; great nephews: Austin, Bailey, Billy, and David Swift; great niece, Ella Marie Swift; uncles: Glenn Swift of Pontiac, and Robert Swift of Hawthorne, Nevada.
Carolyn loved reading, sewing, quilting, working puzzles and her grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the Decatur Quilt Guild, Argenta-Oreana Quilt Guild, and attended Glad Tidings Church.
