Carolyn A. Johnson age 72 of Decatur went to be with the Lord February 21, Saturday, 2004, in her residence.
Homegoing services will be 11 am Saturday February 28, 2004, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Bishop Phillip Wright Officiating, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Carolyn was born on June 27, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of Perry Oliver and Hattie B. Jones Johnson. She was a Clothes Presser for many years working in the Tinsley Cleaners in Champaign. She was a member of Agape Faith A.O.H. Church, where she served as the Mother of the Church for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed to go fishing.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Carolyn include her daughters, Angielene Taylor of Decatur, IL, Iralac McGhee of Champaign, Charlene James and husband Lawrence of Crystal, Minnesota. Grandchildren, Terrence McGhee and wife Dion of Champaign; Merle Jones of Decatur; Ernest Stalling of Rantoul, IL; Charlae Carter of Springfield, IL.
8 great grandchildren, 3 great – great grandchildren; Brother Clyde A. Johnson and wife Barbara of Cleveland, Ohio, close Dear sister - in - law Bereatha Johnson of Champaign, Special Son-in - Law Garland Taylor - of Decatur, Long time family Friend Pastor Dorothy Emery-Atnipp and family of Decatur, family friend Raymond McKibbins of Atlanta, Georgia and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and four brothers and one great grandson..
