Cassandra A. Jefferson's Obituary
Cassandra A. Jefferson, 48, of Belleville, IL passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at Belleville Memorial Hospital. Per Cassandra’s wish’s cremation will be done at Graceland Crematory. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, Thursday, May 31, 2012, from 4-6:00 p.m. with “Flight Home” ceremony to conclude service.
Cassandra spent her early years in Chicago, where she attended Doolittle Elementary School. At the age of twelve, she and her family moved to Decatur, IL. Here, she attended Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Lakeview High School, where she was a member of the girls basketball team.
After graduating from Lakeview High School, Cassandra joined the U.S. Army where she served as a devoted soldier for 10 years. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Cassandra continued to serve her country as government servant at Scott Air Force Base for the next 20 years.
Cassandra was preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Roland Jefferson; her father, Ronald Sr.; her sister, LaRhonda; and her grandmother, Cora lee Harper. She leaves to cherish her mother, Leanna; two brothers, Ronald Jr. and Montraze; two nephews, Varshard (Komi) and Chris; two nieces, LaSandra and Chaquise; a great nephew, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cassandra was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whom she loved to laugh and reminisce about past times with. Her infectious laughter and beautiful smile will be missed greatly.
Our dearest Cassandra (Sleep), you were loved immensely, taken suddenly, and forgotten never. We LOVE YOU and THANK GOD for the time He gave us to share with you!
