Cecilia B. Reynolds' Obituary
DECATUR – Surrounded by her family, Cecilia Belle Reynolds, 80 of Decatur, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident, which happened on December 27, 2006.
From Irish heritage, born on July 7, 1926 and raised in Moberly, MO, Cecilia was the daughter of Patrick and Annabelle Shevlin. Cecilia married Winfred E. Reynolds on May 5, 1948. He died on January 29, 1990 but together they raised a family of seven children.
Cecilia was employed by Decatur Memorial Hospital where she was a telephone operator for more than 20 years before retiring to care for her husband during his illness. Cecilia was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she held a strong belief in her Catholic faith.
Her husband, Winfred, and one brother, Leo Shevlin, preceded Cecilia in death. Cecilia is survived by her children, Mark Linda Reynolds of Portland, OR, Kevin Reynolds of Normal, IL, Lisa Daniel Delatte of Decatur, Robin David Binder of O'Fallon, MO, Dana Jay Lofgren of Kingwood, TX, Dianna Jack Wagner of Decatur, and Paula Albright of Grover, MO. Her sister, Thelma Carter of Moberly, MO and her brother, Howard Shevlin of Grand Junction, CO, also survives Cecilia.
Cecilia was especially proud of her 14 grandchildren, Kristen and Mindy Reynolds, Ryan MaShonna, Kyle and Patrick Delatte, Andrew, Matthew and Sarah Binder, Chase and Cody Lofgren, Leanne Wagner, Jessica, Tyler and Jenny Albright as well as her great-granddaughter, Bija Reynolds.
Funeral services will begin in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with a rosary prayer service at 5:30pm on Friday, January 26 and followed by visitation from 6-8pm in the parish Enrichment Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 10:00am. Private family burial of cremains will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Cecilia's memory to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
The Reynolds family wishes to express their gratitude to Doctors Khan, Dold, and Dove as well as the nursing staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital's ER, ICU, 5th Floor Staff and the Hospice Unit for their compassionate care during this tragedy.
