Charlene Ann Lake's Obituary
Charlene Ann Murray Lake, 64, of Decatur passed away at, 4:10 AM on Monday April 14, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday April 17, 2008 in New Beginnings Church of God with visitation two hours before service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials gifts are suggested to the family.
Charlene was the first born child to Chuck and Lauretta Barrett Murray on October 4, 1943 in Decatur, IL. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School class of 1962, Decatur, IL. She married Ron Zinn September 21, 1962 in Decatur, IL. To this union her three sons were born. She was a member of New Beginnings Church of God Decatur, IL and was most recently employed with First Tech in Decatur, IL and was an Avon representative. She married Marvin D Lake June 1, 1985 he preceded her in death on October 8, 2003.
Charlene always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She especially loved hugs from her grand children. She liked to do scrap booking and crafts. Charlene loved music, she and Marvin spent a lot of time with several local country bands where Marvin played bass and she would occasionally sing.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving family: Parents, Chuck and Lauretta Murray of Decatur, IL; brother, Chuck Murray and wife Nancy of Tennessee; sisters, Kitty Hott of Aurora, IL; Ali Steffen of Decatur, IL; sons, Scott Zinn of Decatur, IL; Randy Zinn and wife Candy of Decatur, IL; Brian Zinn and wife Kelly of Warrensburg, IL; step-daughter, Jennifer Lake of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Sonya Seggelke, Dustin Hoskins, Brian and Colton Zinn, Gabrielle and Quinton Wade, Dennis Lake, JJ Davis, Brittney Paddock, Amber Paddock, and Rodney Paddock; nieces and nephews, Kevin and Andi Leslie of Jacksonville, AK; Tammy and Chris Laughlin of Arthur, IL; Michelle and Dan Court of Sandwich, IL; Carissa and Greg Hayes of Mt. Zion, IL; Marcus and Jen Hott of Belvedere, IL; Justinn Lander of Tennessee; many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, brothers-in-law, Les Hott, John Morey, and Bob Steffen, and her grandma, Jessie Powell who recently passed at 102.
Charlene will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
