Charles Maurice Absher's Obituary
Charles Maurice Absher, 71, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Decatur Rehabilitation Health Care Center.
Charles was born February 28, 1943 in Marion, IL, the son of Charles Joseph and Hazel (Herren) Absher. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After 37 years, Charles retired from North Town Ford in Decatur. He was a real good pool player, and an excellent cook. He liked to fish, go dancing, and spend lots of time with his kids and grandchildren. He married Jeanne McCombs on April 23, 1960 in Benton, IL. They shared 54 years of their lives together.
Charles leaves behind his wife, Jeanne Absher of Decatur; sons, Charles R. Absher of Danville, IL; John D. Absher of Madison, IN; daughter, Gina R. (Mark) Riddle of Decatur; brothers, Larry Absher of Marion, IL; Sam Absher of Bellville, IL; Jim Absher of St. Louis, MO; sister, Patti Teal of Bellville, IL; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Osborn, Jessica Root, Jade Osborn, Angel Absher, Charlie Absher; and two great-grandchildren, Cami and Keira.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Bob Absher.
Honoring Charles’ wishes, cremation services will be provided by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
