Charles Reid Bloxam's Obituary
Charles Reid Bloxam, 83, of Decatur, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 in his home.
Charles was born September 12, 1924, in Blue Mound, the son of Lee Francis and Eythel Lillian Abbott Bloxam. Charles proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp. during WWII as an airplane mechanic in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He retired from the Teamsters Union Local #279 and married Kaythryn Kearney in 1949. She preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Brunson Kearney in 1996.
Surviving is his wife, Ruth of Decatur; daughter, Teresa Ann Huffman and husband, Randy of Lincoln; step children: Bill Schumacher and wife, Sally of Decatur; Alice Parsons of San Antonio, TX, and Chris King and husband, Jack of Douglas WY; grandchildren: Bryan and Daniel Huffman both of Lincoln; several great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and first wife.
In honor of Charles's wishes his remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
