Charles Elmer Butler's Obituary
Charles Elmer Butler, 95, of Decatur, passed away Monday evening, September 19, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Decatur.
Charles was born September 10, 1921, in Sullivan, to Morey and Katie (Morgan) Butler. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Maxine Patterson . They divorced and he later married Pauline Mathias. She passed away August 23, 2003. He married Annie “Louise” Kellow on February 5, 2015. She passed away January 20, 2016.
Charles is survived by two sons, Phillip (Elaine) Butler of Beason, IL and Ricky (Diane) Butler of Hiawassee, GA; one step-son, Jack (Naomi) Boneham of Escondido, CA; one step-daughter, Linda (Kenneth) McCollum of Decatur; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Butler; four sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services to celebrate the life of Charles Butler will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Macon County Memorial Park where full military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Life Foursquare Church.
