Charles R Campbell's Obituary
Clinton- Charles Ray Campbell, 86, of Clinton, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family.
Charles was born May 23, 1928 in Waynesville, IL to Charles Robert and Mamie Loreen (Adcock) Campbell. He proudly served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. He married his sweetheart, Rosemary Lange, on May 15, 1953. He attended the University of Illinois and Illinois State University. Horses were a lifelong interest and he bred and showed Quarter horses for many years. He was a long standing member of 42 years with the masons in Danville and Dewitt lodge 0084. He loved his family and the many large family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosemary; his two daughters, Debra (Robert) Hathaway of Saddlebrooke, MO and Roxann (Jeff) Clore of Globe, AZ; one granddaughter, Linsey Clore of Globe, AZ.; one brother, Howard (Dorothy) Campbell of Clinton: one sister, Dora Neal of Clinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bradley Campbell; siblings, Dean Campbell, Agnes Cory, Nettie Cobb, Robert Campbell, Wayne Campbell and Marie Thayer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
