Charles G. Crum's Obituary
Charles G. "Charlie" Crum, 66, of Decatur, died on Wed, Jan 10, 2007, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 am Tues, Jan 16, 2007, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Very Rev. James O'Shea celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass in the church. The family requests casual attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association Lou Gehrig Disease.
Charlie was born on Aug 13, 1940 in Clinton, the son of Roy C. and Mattie Ruth Johnson Crum. He worked as shipping supervisor for Firestone Tire & Rubber for nearly 33 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Charlie married Linda Polser on April 15, 1961 in Bloomington.
Surviving is his wife, Linda of Decatur; sons: Charles Virginia Crum, Thomas Crum, and Daniel Crum all of Decatur; mother, Mattie Ruth Crum of Normal; brother, Thomas Barb Crum of Normal; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild and one step-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father; two brothers: James and Jerry Crum and one sister, Carol Ann Crum.
The family of Charles G. "Charlie" Crum is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
