Charles Merlin Dick's Obituary
Charles Merlin Dick, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Charles was born April 1, 1945, in Lanesville, IL, the son of Robert and Geraldine Creek Dick. He marries Carlotta Jean “Donna” Tulak on May 8, 1971, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Decatur.
Charles served his country with the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed for over ten years at Carry Transit and worked for many years at Tom’s Package. He enjoyed camping, fishing and playing practical jokes with family and friends. Charles especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids, and was a computer nut.
Surviving are his wife Donna of Decatur; daughter Dawn Plowman special friend Mike of Decatur; grandchildren: Kailin Henry, Jordan Plowman, and Makayla Plowman; brothers: Roger Staci Dick, and Richard Dick, all of Decatur; sisters: Shirley Phil Meyers of Mayville, TX, Louise Kellis friend Randy, Tina Dick friend Jeff, all of Decatur; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be l: 00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, Decatur, with a graveside service at a later date. Visitation will be 5 ' 8 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire.
Memorials may be made to the Charles Merlin Dick Memorial Fund.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny.
