Charles "Chuck" Blaine Hall Jr's Obituary
Decatur – Charles Blaine “Chuck” Hall Jr, 60, of Decatur, passed away at 9:13 am, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at home in the presence of his wife Shalyn and stepson Tristen Anderson after a battle with cancer.
Chuck was born June 5, 1962, in East St. Louis, St. Clair County, IL, the son of Charles W. Hall and Vera L. Jordan. Both parents preceded him in death.
Chuck/Blaine enlisted and served in the U.S. Army being stationed in Korea with Forscom FC HHC 20th Engr. Bn. 82nd Airborne. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and Expert Badge M16 Rifle. His rank at separation was Specialist 4 at Ft. Campbell, KY.
He retired from the State of Illinois as a site tech after 20 years (Weldon Springs State Park, Mascoutin Campground Clinton Lake, and Moraine View.) Chuck/Blaine married Shalyn Ricks on January 11, 2023, and gained a son, Tristen Anderson of Decatur both of which survive.
Other surviving family members include: (James) Tammy Neilson of Maroa, IL, Tracey Beasley of Clinton, IL, Stacy Short West of Bement, IL; niece, Latisha Neilson of Clinton, IL; nephews: Greg Beasley of Cincinnati, OH, Blaine Short of Indianapolis, IN, and D. Gage Short of Bement, IL; mother-in-law, Brenda Ricks of Decatur, IL; sister-in-law, Desiree Ricks of Decatur; and brothers-in-law: Tony Ricks and Joseph Ricks both of Decatur.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, beginning at 11 am until the time of Military Rites at 1 pm at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
