Charles E. Jinks' Obituary
Charles E Jinks, 68, of Lexington, KY died Thursday, March 18, 2010 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. A native of Decatur, IL, he was born February 22, 1942; a son of late Charles Gaylord and Vernada Ellis Jinks. He moved to Lexington, KY in 1969 where he served the community for many years as a well respected educator and retired from teaching in 1989. He was a published author of numerous articles during his career and had a passion for Kentucky and the Kentucky Derby.
Survivors include his sister, Alice Williams; nieces, Linda Kay Maxedon and Sandra Bloch; nephew, William Marion Bonnell; special friend, Margaret Slugantz; his lifelong friend, Steve Bopp; and his wonderful caregiver through his struggle with MS, Lisa Jordan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Jinks.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial and Committal Service will be in Graceland Cemetery.
