Charles Howard Langley's Obituary
Charles Howard Langley, 91, of Decatur passed away at 12:15 am on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service celebrating Mr. Langley’s life will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Rev. Robert W. White officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to McKinley Court Care Center Activities Fund 500 West McKinley Ave. Decatur, IL 62526.
Charles Howard was born on May 19, 1918. He married Ethel Dorsey on April 22, 1938 and she preceded him in death on July 27, 1991.
Survivors include his daughters: Linda Boyer of Decatur and Judy Waggoner John of Forsyth; and a very special friend and companion, Mary Lou Geer; sister, Barbara Smail Sam of Farina; brothers, John Langley Donna and Ora Langley both of Mt Vernon; Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ron Boyer of Iowa; Julia Blick of Morton; Chris Overheul of California; Jeff Waggoner of Bloomington; and Joy Beube of Forsyth; twelve great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death his parents, wife, a sister, Dorothy Ekiss and one grandson, Randy Overheul
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. D. Patel, McKinley Court staff and the 4100 nursing staff at DMH. Howard’s family appreciated all the special care given to him. He was a kind and gentle man.
