Charles Mac Morey, Sr., 78, of Decatur, died on Monday, April 9, 2007, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Zion.
Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Friday, April 13, 2007, at Macon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts are suggested to Glad Tidings Youth Ministry.
Charles was born on January 24, 1929 in Clay Center, KS, the son of Lewis and Ethel Kirkendall Morey. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and worked in the maintenance dept. at Mueller Co. retiring in 1991. Charles married Virginia P. Guffey on November 9, 1950 in Corinth, MS.
Surviving is his wife of over fifty-six years, Virginia of Decatur; children: Carolyn Gower of Decatur, Marilyn Morey of Orlando, FL, Charles Mac Theresa Morey, Jr., of Macon, and Bobby Andrea Morey of Mt. Zion; brother, John Evelyn Morey of Decatur; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judy; three sister, and two brothers.
The family of Charles Mac Morey, Sr. is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
