Charles L. Walker, 75 of Decatur departed this life at 9:18 pm Friday September 05, 2003 in Saint Mary's Hospital Decatur.
Funeral Services Celebrating his life will be 10 am Wednesday September 10, 2003 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday September 09, 2003. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Moweaqua.
Charles was born on October 12, 1927 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Travis and Blanche Cloney Walker. He served his country during the World War II in the Navy. He was a member of the Local Union # 713; he attended the Christ Tabernacle Church; he was an active volunteer in supporting the Vietnam Veterans. He walked in Washington, D.C. to support the rites of the Vietnam Veterans. He was retired from Firestone after working more than 26 years. He married Lucille Cole in Decatur, Illinois on September 12, 1947, she survives.
Also surviving are his sons; Roger Walker and wife Sandra of Troy, Illinois, John Walker of Decatur, Illinois, Bob Walker of Decatur, Illinois, Bill Walker and wife Cindy of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; brother, Harold Walker and wife Betty of Carlinville, Illinois, 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, one sister, and one brother.
