Charlotte Ann (Skinner) Phelps' Obituary
Charlotte Ann (Skinner) Phelps, 82, of Taylorville, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 29, 1943, in Christian County, Illinois, to LeRoy and Edna (Greear) Skinner. Charlotte lived a full and meaningful life, marked by hard work, devotion to family, and quiet strength. She retired after years of dedicated service to both GSI and Georgia Pacific.
Charlotte found joy in the simple things: gardening, staying informed with Fox news, and spending time outdoors in her breezeway. She identified with the Baptist Faith and lived by its values.
She is survived by her children; Karol (Brad) Davis and Kyle Tyler; her grandchildren Paige (Zach) Ziemba, Tyler Davis, and Matthew Davis; her great-granddaughter Nora Davis; her siblings Benjamin (Sharon) Skinner, David (Shirley) Skinner, and Cecelia Strunk; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Gottman, her brother Jack Skinner, and her husband, Jerry Phelps.
In accordance with her wishes, Charlotte was cremated and a private graveside burial will be held by the family. No public services are planned.
Charlotte’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
