Christine Anne "Nanny" Lindsey 56 of Decatur died on Sunday December 2, 2007 in her home surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 Wednesday December 5, 2007 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Spriggs as Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorial gifts are suggested to Holy Family School.
Nanny was born July 28, 1951 in Decatur the daughter of James and Patricia Franke Spriggs. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
She married Douglas W. Lindsey on October 28, 1978.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas W. Lindsey; daughter, Amanda Lindsey of Decatur; grandchildren, Anastasia Lindsey, Anthony Lindsey, and Ashley Lindsey all of Decatur; mother, Patricia Spriggs of Decatur; sisters, Linda Spriggs, Mary Spriggs Ploessl, and Lucy Good John all of Decatur; brothers, Jimmy Spriggs, Joe Spriggs, and Patrick Spriggs all of Decatur; uncles, Jim Veech of Decatur; Rev. Robert Spriggs of Effingham; Dr. Raymond Spriggs of Ohio; aunts, Norma Bulger Bob of Minnesota; Mary Haring Ron of Champaign; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Frances Lindsey of Decatur; sister-in-law, Donell Nurnberger David of Decatur; brother-in-law, Stephen Lindsey Shirley of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank St. John's Hospice Nursing Staff, St. Mary's Hospital ICU nurses and staff, Dr. Esparaz, Dr. Arnold and Dr. Fior for all their care. The family would also like to thank Rev. Joe Molloy, Sister Geraldine and Sister Mary Ann for all their prayers and kindness.
