Christine Wisdom's Obituary
Christine Wisdom, 81 years old, entered into eternal peace in the early morning of Thursday, November 27, 2014 in her home. Christine was born on July 20, to the union of Thomas Moody, Jr. and Marcella Foss Moody Gill. Christine gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was raised by her beloved mother, great uncle Sam Frost and his sister Carrie.
During her formative years, Christine was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Carthage, Mississippi. She graduated from Sandy Gavin grade school and Wesley Chapel High School. Also, she attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, Richland Community College, and Millikin University (both in Decatur, Illinois).
Christine selflessly gave her time to help others. In the 1970s, she was a member of the William Harris Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.); she served as an executive board member in the positions of corresponding secretary and membership chairperson. In 1981, she received a P.T.A. Life pin and was inducted into the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers as a life member. She worked in the William Harris Elementary School store as well as in the library. She was affectionately called “Ms. Christine” by her school and neighborhood “children”.
Christine treasured her role as a loving mother, wife, and homemaker. She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband of 52 years, Robert Wisdom; two daughters, Denise Marcella Wisdom of Denver, CO and Christina Renee (Jeremy) Robinson of Decatur, IL; four grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Paris Williams, Tyra Robinson, and Simone Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Kaylen Williams and Kiyler Williams; sister-in-laws, Milderson (Millie) Bruce of Rockford, IL and Ruth Palmer of Freeport, IL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Earnestine Moody (twin sister), Cecilia Moody and Cilia Moody (both passing away at an early age); mother-in-law, Jennie Ruth Garrison Wisdom; and brother-in-laws Charles Wisdom and William Wisdom, Jr.
Christine loved to crotchet; often “gifting” people with her lovely afghan spreads. Also, she enjoyed engaging her love ones in participating in her fondness for all types of puzzles and games (scrabble, word puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles). She will be tremendously missed.
