Clarence V. Cadwallader's Obituary
C.V. (Vic) Cadwallader, 96, of Decatur, formerly of Springfield, IL passed away peacefully January 8, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Vic was born on September 28, 1924 in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Jesse Arvil and Gertrude Ursala (Risch) Cadwallader.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After his term of service, he met and married Betty Ruth Hatch in Decatur, IL. They recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Vic graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was employed by the State of Illinois DOT as an accountant and retired in 1991.
His passion was classical music and he enjoyed playing the violin. He had formerly played in the Springfield and Decatur Symphony Orchestras.
Surviving is his wife Betty, daughters: Vicki (Jim) DiBartolomeo of Decatur; Claudia (Matt) Cadwallader of Atascadero, CA; Susanne (A.J.) Hutson of Cocoa Beach, FL; and Sally (Bill) Stieglitz of Morton, IL; Grandchildren: Andrew (Julie) Goin; Alexa (Gus) Cadwallader; Sarah (Justin) Zimmerman; Cody (Devan) Stieglitz; and 7 great grandchildren.
