Clarence E. Owens' Obituary
Clarence E. Owens 81 of Oreana, IL died Monday November 4, 2002 in his home.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 P.M. Friday November 8, 2002 in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service. Burial will be in the Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the DMH Hospice Program or the American Lung Association.
Clarence was born on February 2,1921 in Warrensburg, IL the son of Charles E. and Mertle Williams Owens. His mother and stepfather Charles Doyle raised him. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was a past president of the Wilders Camping Club. He was retired in 1983 from Staley Express after 23 Ã?½ years of service. He later worked for Nabor Grain of Shelbyville, IL. Clarence was member of the Teamsters Union Local #279. He had two Previous marriages prior to marring Joyce L. Skelton Engle- McGehee on January 14, 1956 in Gillespie, IL.
Surviving are his wife, children, Dorothy Robert Fessler of Decatur, IL; Peggy Robert Yeakley of Hammond, IL; Tami George Wilderman of Decatur, IL; Cheri Rick Jones of Decatur, IL; Paula Robert Foran of Bethany, IL; Timothy McGehee of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Mary Cameron of Windsor, IL; Linda Gene Snyder of Decatur, IL; Marg Jerry Buckley of Decatur, IL; Norma Jean Doyle of Decatur, IL; brother, Donald Doyle of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Tara Vic Zientara, Tanya Hurley, Candy Wilderman, Brandy Wilderman, Megan Foran, Gerald Jones, Neil Jones, Michael Jones, David Medenall, Kenny Yeakley, Steven Yeakley, and Steven McGehee; great-grandchildren: Seth Jones, Brandon Jones, Natalie Jones, Scott Jones, David Gerst, Dominick Simpson, and Tristin Quinlan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mildred and Harold Skelton, brothers, Jack, Bill and Charles Doyle, brother-in-law, Harold Skelton, grandson, Jamie McGehee, and great-granddaughter, Shawlie Skelton.
