Clyde A. Booher's Obituary
Decatur – Clyde A. Booher, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his home.
Clyde was born October 27, 1924 in Decatur, the son of Hubert and Fern (Sites) Booher. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, Clyde was a member of Central Christian Church and worked for Illinois Bell for 36 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge and worked as a funeral assistant for J.J. Moran’s now Moran & Goebel Funeral Home for many years. Clyde married Jean Churchill on May 25, 1952 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Jean of Decatur; sons: Craig (Jill) Booher of Arlington, TX and Kent Booher of Kokomo, IN; daughters: Julia (Richard) Hettinger and Lydia (Kevin) Spain all of Decatur; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy.
Service’s to celebrate Clyde’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will begin at noon. Burial will take place in Goose Creek Township Cemetery, Deland, IL with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Teresa High School or Wounded Warrior Project.
