Cora E. Lane's Obituary
Cora E. Lane, 102, of Decatur, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008.
Service will be Friday, December 12, 2008 at 2:00 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Moweaqua.
Cora was born November 29, 1906, in St. Elmo, IL, to John and Mabel Bonner Burger. She married James Earl Lane on September 17, 1921 in St. Elmo. He preceded her in death. She worked for numerous years in several different dry cleaners around the Decatur area, finally retiring in 1982. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed her time in the kitchen at the VFW Post 99 Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Surviving is her daughter, Mary Taylor; grandchildren, Raymond, Rhonda, Doug, Marsha, Linda, Peggy , Harry , Dan, Mike, Judy, and Kathy ; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Edward and Raymond; one daughter, Alice; five sisters; two brothers; and one half-brother.
The family of Cora E. Lane is being served by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur.
