Cordelia Cochennour's Obituary
Cordelia Cochennour, 94, of Colfax formerly of Decatur, IL died April 27, 2010 in Pontiac, IL.
Services will be 1:30 PM Friday, April 30, 2010 with visitation one hour before the service in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran School Association both in Decatur.
Mrs. Cochennour was born in Blairstown, Iowa on January 15, 1916, daughter of Rev. Carl & Wilhemine, Minnie Schulz Pritz. She was married to William Bill Gelonek, November 23, 1939. He preceded her in death March 30, 1987. She married Glen Cochennour on July 6, 1991 in Decatur. He preceded her in death October 11, 1998. She was employed in Decatur at Kresge Dollar Store, Swift & Company, Houdaille Hershey, and Wagner Castings Company which she retired after 21 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Companionship Guild, Dorcas Society, Women’s Missionary League, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Lexington.
She is survived by her only daughter, Ruth Gelonek Lee and husband Bob of Chenoa; two granddaughters, Jacqueline Johnson Lown and Julie Johnson Crouch and husband Scott all of Lexington; step-daughter Becky Cochennour Baker and husband David; sister, Servata Munson of Decatur; great-grandchildren; Andrew, Amanda and Alexis Lown, Hannah and Benjamin Crouch, nine step-grandchildren and twenty two step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sisters, Gertrude Brix and Hiltrude Masonis, and step-daughter, Jenny Cochennour.
