Cordelia M. Young, 75, of Decatur, formerly of Chicago, died on Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Decatur.
Homegoing services celebrating her life will be 12 p.m. Mon. July 18, 2005 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Cordelia was born on Oct. 2, 1929 in Southfulton, TN. the daughter of Booker Barbee and Florylee Hilliard. Cordelia was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's A.M.E. and a past member of Living Word Full Gospel Baptist Church in Maywood, IL.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughters: Carla Winston Gordon of Bolingbrook; Viola Cecil Robinson of Maywood; Judy Wilson Thomas of Atlanta, GA; Phyllis Young, Debra Johnson, Annie Young and Kenitha Young all of Decatur. brothers: Booker Barbee of Michigan; Nick Margie Barbee of Maywood; Rudy Barbee of Ohio; sister, Mozell Barbee of Texas; special sister in law, Rosie Gardner of MS; two great aunts: Dather Hilliard and Macy Hilliard both of Ohio; 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Fay; and one brother, Walter.
