Crystal Renee Cowger's Obituary
Crystal Renee Cowger was born in Decatur, Illinois on August 26th, 1985, to Lynn and Sharon Cowger.
She was eager to come out and see the world, sliding out on the delivery table into Aunt Ann’s arms. She was hesitant at first when her brother Jonathan was born, crying with jealousy if anyone held him and fighting over their shared Cabbage Patch ride on toy. Eventually they became really close until his untimely passing on November 20th, 2011. Crystal enjoyed going shopping, watching Saved by the Bell, Punky Brewster, and SpongeBob SquarePants, playing video games and beating “everybody’s huh” on Sorry and Life. She enjoyed going to see Kenny Chesney when he was at Nashville North and shaking her booty to “She Think’s My Truck’s Sexy”.
She had a smile that would light up the room, until Cancer kept trying to blow it out. She fought hard until her light went out February 1st, 2025, followed shortly after by her father Lynn.
She was preceded in death by Grandpa Earl Clifford Cowger, Grandma Amanda “Marie” (Hibbs) Cowger, Grandpa Porter, Uncle Marlon, several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday (02-18-2025) at Moran and Goebel Funeral home.
