Curtis F. Cummins' Obituary
Curtis F. "Curt" Cummins, 71, of Decatur, beloved Father and Grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, Mar. 08, 2005.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be 2 p.m. Sat. Mar. 12, 2005 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service time. Burial will be Sunday at 12 p.m. in Anderson Cemetery, Boaz Illinois. Memorials are suggested to: DMH Hospice.
Curt was born on June 13, 1933 in Boaz, Illinois the son of Curtis T. and Josie Farris Cummins. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1955 with a degree in Design Engineering. Curt then worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 44 years before retiring in 2001. He loved traveling for "Cat" and commuted to England for the last 10 years. Curt loved to jog and enjoyed having breakfast with his "Cat" buddies. He married Diane Eddleman in Southern Illinois in 1955. He loved his family and we will miss him very much!
Surviving is his wife, Diane of Decatur; children: Thomas Cummins Bob Birkey of Champaign; Patrick Cummins, Mary Chris Gaede and John Cummins all of Decatur; grandchildren: Zach and Alexandria Gaede; brother, Charles Carolyn Cummins of Evansville, IN; aunts, Lawanda and Linda Sue of Southern Illinois; lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Lance and his favorite Uncle, Penny.
