Daisy M. Sutton's Obituary
Decatur-Daisy M. Sutton, 79, of Decatur, went to be in the loving arms of her husband in the presence of Jesus at 8:51 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Daisy was born October 26, 1934 in Hindsboro, the daughter of Donald and Edna (Childress) Reynolds. She was previously employed with Norman’s Cleaners for thirty years and then with Noah’s Ark Christian Daycare. She was a member of the Second Church of God. She ran the food pantry at Maranatha Assembly of God for over ten years and was very involved in her husband’s ministry. Her family especially her grandchildren were her life. She also loved to collect and refurbish dolls her collection was featured on the WAND News. She married James Sutton Sr. April 8, 1950. They were married for over sixty-three years. He preceded her in death September 7, 2013.
She leaves behind her children Linda (Jerry) Wolfe, James (Judith) Sutton Jr. of Decatur, Cheryl (Kenneth) Snoke of Evansville, Indiana, and Donald (Lisa) Sutton of Harristown, brother John (Charlotte) Reynolds of Mt. Zion, sister Donna Williams of Decatur, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, brothers Edward and Bill Reynolds, and sister Sue Kidwell.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Fritz, Dr. Kola, Wilma with Visiting Nurses, caregiver Lisa Sutton, and the nurses and staff of 4100 at DMH for all of their loving care.
Services to celebrate Daisy’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Second Church of God, 2670 Division St. Decatur with Pastor Mike Pritts officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the church. Private burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Boody. Memorials may be directed to the Second Church of God.
