Dale Eugene Utsler, 81, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2010 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Funeral service celebrating Dale's life will be 1:00 pm Monday December 13, 2010 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Rhodus officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Fair Havens Christian Home or the Alzheimer’s Association

Dale was born July 6, 1929 in rural Atwood the son of Delbert and Matilda Ingram Utsler. During his youth at the Muirheid Farm he was involved in Agricultural work. He became a USPS letter carrier for 34 years. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion. He held many positions as a devoted member. His last church membership was with Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church. He devoted a major part of his life to church work for the glory of God. He married Betty Ann York on July 6, 1947 in Decatur she preceded him in death on May 24, 2005. They were married for 58 years. Dale was a devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his daughters, Michelle Bartlett Mark of Mt. Zion; Janis Utsler of Bloomington; sons, Ronald Utsler of Plainfield; Everett Utsler of Springfield; brothers, Jerry Utsler Paula of Franklin; Melvin Utsler of Bethany; Roger Ingram;sisters, Linda Hunter Tom of Williams Port, IN; Mary O’hely of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Jacki White, Kathy Jorgenson, Natalie Hubner, Sean Gustafson, Rachel Utsler, Seth Utsler, Dylan Smalley, Parker Smalley, McKenzie Bartlett, and Madelyn Bartlett; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Sonja White, two grandchildren, Christina Utsler and Melissa Utsler, brother, Dean Utsler, sisters, Leona Miller, Virginia Utsler, and Nora Weyer.
