Daniel Wayne Artis' Obituary
Daniel Wayne Artis, 53 of Decatur passed away at 5:30 PM on Tuesday March 6, 2007 in his home with family members present.
Mr. Artis was born April 7, 1953 in Reedsburg, Sauck Co., Wisconsin, the son of Kenneth and Joyce Spencer Artis. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley, son Martin Angela Artis of Pekin, IL, daughter, Shelly Artis of Decatur, mother of Rawlins, WY, sister, Sue Jim Blake of Rawlins, NW and sister Cathy Kent Wacaser of Cody, WY, 8 grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews. He had a great love for his family.
Dan worked in janitorial services in Decatur. He was very artistic, drawing cartoon characters, clowns, flowers, and such. He also enjoyed model cars.
Special thanks go to St. John's Hospice and all who visited and helped care for him.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3955 Lourdes Drive, Decatur, IL at 1:30PM on Saturday April 7, 2007
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice or to the family for medical and funeral expenses.
