To the Barnett Family - my name is Ted Workman. I want to express my condolences to all regarding Dan’s death. I grew up on Twin Bridge Road, directly west of the Barnett home on Salem School Road. I distinctly remember riding the same school bus as Dan’s sister, Mary (who was in my sister Carol’s class), brother Dale and sisters Margaret and Kathy, and I remember Dan as a youngster, as he was about 7 years younger than me. In my late high school years, I bailed hay for Jay Fulk and also worked with Dan’s father, Elmer. These are some of my favorite memories.
I got to know Dan better years later, as we both worked at Mueller Company. During my 40 years there, I was a production supervisor for 20 years, and during that time, I got to know Dan as a very good employee who was conscientious, reliable, friendly and was well liked by all of his co-workers. I often thought that if I could have hand selected a half dozen fellows to work with, Dan would have certainly been on my list.
I am sorry I could not attend Dan’s visitation, but I want to express how much I enjoyed working with him.
