Daniel Francis Ducy's Obituary
Daniel F Ducy, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana formerly of Decatur joined his wife and 2 sons in Heaven when he passed away at 12:30pm on June 8, 2011 at the home of his son Dave, in Fort Wayne, IN where he has resided since January of this year. Dave and Linda will be bringing him home to rest.
Dan was born on January 5, 1919 in Clinton, Illinois the son of Frank and Mary Ducy. Dan served our country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during WWII. Following the armed services he was a member of the Carpenters Local 742 for over 70 years also working for the State of Illinois for 10 years. Dan was a member of Local 742 and served in many positions including Business Agent and Trustee. He enjoyed woodworking and making many pieces of furniture and cabinetry over the years for his family. Dan especially enjoyed people and music and was an active member of the Moose Club and the American Legion Post 105 in Decatur.
Surviving are his son Dave Ducy and wife Linda of Fort Wayne, Indiana and his Daughter-in-Law Teri Ducy of Decatur, 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Dorothea A Ducy and 2 sons, Michael F Ducy and William P Ducy, all who he missed terribly.
Services to celebrate Dan's life will be Monday, June 13, 2011, at 10:00am in Moran and Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Spruell officiating and Military Honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12 from 2pm until 4pm. Internment will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date as cremation rites will be accorded as per his wishes.
