Darlene Coleman, 84, passed away on October 28, 2023, in Decatur, IL.
Darlene was born to Dan and Willie Mae Ingram on August 9, 1939, in Ripley, TN. She married the love of her life, Roy Junior Coleman, on November 14, 1959, in Decatur, IL. They were married for 63 years. Darlene worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL for 51 years. She was a member of the Miracle Temple Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She loved to travel. If she could get to it by car, she would go. She traveled with family, friends from work, or for church conventions that often took her to Florida.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Roy Coleman; sons, William (Lakeyshiaa) Roy Coleman, Clarence Coleman; sister, Jessie (Rick) Mae Tyus; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Willie Mae Ingram; sister, Emma Jean Ingram and 1 great grandchild.
Services will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023, at Community Temple Church at 11:00 AM with a visitation an hour prior.
