Darlene Marie Matthews-Haines' Obituary
Darlene Marie Matthews-Haines, 58, of Decatur, Illinois passed away Friday Feb 3, 2024. Darlene was born in Decatur, Illinois on August 6, 1965, the daughter of Emma Matthews and John Harris, and a twin sister.
Darlene was a graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School Class of 1983 in Decatur, Illinois. Upon graduation she joined the military and spent 10 years of her life serving our country. During her tenure in the military, she earned several degrees in social work and substance abuse counseling. She also highlighted her career being an employment counselor.
Darlene is survived by her children, sons Rashawn and Jamaal Haines, and daughter Asia Haines. Grandchildren: Grandsons Lil Shawn, LaDerrick Hayes, Jamareon Austin, Grandaughters Aniyah Austin, Aryria Haines. Siblings: sisters, Mary Smith, Joyce Harvey (Larry), Thelma Thomas, Bessie Matthews, Emma Matthews, Theresa Matthews and her twin Marlene White, Tamara Matthews, Ikesha Matthews. Brothers: Robert Smith, Louis Matthews, Marlon Matthews, Jackie Matthews. Proceeded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Leaves to cherish many nieces, nephews, and an Auntie, cousins.
Funeral Services for Darlene will be held at Moran and Goebel on Friday February 16, 2024. Visitation will begin one hour before services
