Darnell Mann's Obituary
Darnell Mann, 61, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in the home of his father with his family by his side. He was born July 7, 1950, to Alexander and Mary Etta Cooper Mann.
Darnell was a 1968 graduate of Eisenhower High School and a veteran of the Vietnam War. After completion of his military service, he attended Richland Community College and earned an associate’s degree in industrial arts. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company after 30 years. He enjoyed family gatherings and watching old westerns on television.
He is survived by his father; sisters: Bernice Turnbo, Lillie Mann and Katie Mann; nephew Anthony Tony Turnbo; niece Sheryl Turnbo; grandnephew Brylin Turnbo; grandniece Brya Turnbo; and special friend Wanda Burries.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard..
Darnell’s family would like to thank Dr. Estrada-Garcia and the nurses at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois as well as DMH Hospice for the care they provided during his illness.
