David Hamilton James' Obituary
David Hamilton James, 69, of Decatur, died Sunday April 15, 2007, in his home.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life will be 10 am Friday, April 20, 2007 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Fr. Rick Weltin celebrant. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, vigil prayer service at 5:30 pm. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to: Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or American Heart Association.
David Hamilton James was born August 22, 1937 in Olney, the son of Hamilton and Geneva Elder James. He earned a B.S. degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Masters from the University of Illinois, Springfield. David worked as a process engineer at Bridgestone/Firestone. He was an Air Force Veteran and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, K of C Council #577, Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge. David married Gail Lynn Brooks on September 28, 1957 in Newton, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Gail of Decatur; daughter, Teresa Ann Edward Wrigley of Morris; brothers: Roger Carol James of Dundas, Daniel Kay James of Haubstadt, IN, and John Linda James of Marshall; sisters: Carol Rohr and Mary Simonson both of Newton, and Ilene Pat Adams of Heltonville, IN; grandchildren: Scott David Wrigley and Nicole Terese Wrigley; three nieces, and eight nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Brian Hamilton James and Bradley Hamilton James.
