David Rollin Kidwell's Obituary
David Rollin Kidwell, a longtime resident of Lovington, and a loving and devoted father, died Friday, January 9, 2009, of natural causes. He was 74.
Until his retirement in 1996, he worked 40 years at the Natural Gas Pipeline Company in Hammond. He was most happy laughing with his family and friends, behind the wheel on the open road, solving crossword puzzles, reading western novels, and discussing his longtime dream of watching the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. He is remembered for his selfless hard work, his friendly conversation, and his warm smile.
He is survived by his two brothers, Eugene Kidwell and Larry Kidwell of California; three children, Linda Lewicki of Mahomet; David of Riverside; Andy of Palatine; and four grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Esther and June; and one brother, Harold.
Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2009, from 5 until 7 pm, with a service at 7 pm, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2801 N. Monroe St., Decatur. Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
