David Ross Landrum's Obituary
Decatur-David Ross “Hollywood” Landrum, 60, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Lincoln Manor surrounded by his family.
Services to celebrate David’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at People’s Church of God, 833 W. Pershing Rd. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be a Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
David was born May 24, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Aljay Landrum and Laura Rowe. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was previously employed as a foreman with ADM with over thirty years of service. He loved fishing, sports, and joking around with his family and friends. David recently accepted Christ as his Savior at Community Church of God under Pastor Elgin Hawthorne, Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish fond memories his mother Laura Rowe, sons Delbert Cason and David Coleman, daughters Shonda Wheeler, Shawn NaNa Wheeler, Ratonda Tonya, and Lonnie Danny,, brother Aljay Landrum Jr. Lula, Edward Landrum, Timothy Hunt Noni, sisters Vanessa Davis Bobby, Margaret Frazier Lee, June Smith, and Ruthie Gray Marvin, special niece Pamela Landrum, nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in Heaven with his father Aljay Landrum, grandmother Daisy Benson, and a grandchild.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Sumpter family and Passages of Hospice and Lincoln Manor and any others that helped in David’s time of illness.
