David William Rhodes 54 of Decatur died Monday July 7, 2003 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 9:00 am Friday July11, 2003 in Macon County Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.jjmoran.com.
David was born on August 24, 1948 in St. Elmo, IL the son of Elvy and Lorraine Sparr. He had worked as a switchman for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He married Marilyn Humphries on August 19, 1978 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; children, David Jr, Doug, Michelle, Misty, and John; brother, Rick Rhodes and wife Jeannie of Decatur; mother-in-law, Leona Humphries of Decatur; aunts and uncles, Bob and Lola McNett of Mt. Zion; Beverly Humphries of Fenton, MO; Eugene and Elmira Sparr of Decatur; Robert and Viola Wester of Decatur; and Ellen Dunker of Mt. Zion; fourteen grandchildren.
His father, Elvy Rhodes, mother, Lorraine Martin, father-in-law Eddie Humphries, two nephews, and an aunt preceded him in death.
