David D. Rowan's Obituary
Decatur- David D. Rowan, 40, of Decatur passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012.
David was born on February 26, 1971 in Ogden, UT the son of Benjamin D. and Karen DeJong Rowan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur and served as a Deacon. He received his Bachelors degree in Religion and Philosophy from Sterling College in Sterling, KS and Masters Degree in social work from University of Illinois -Springfield. He worked at Webster Cantrell Hall Transitional Living Program. He previously worked for Youth Horizons in Wichita, KS. He married Bridgett Chandler on May 31, 2003 in Wichita, KS.
David is survived by his wife, Bridgett; children, Jordyn Danielle Rowan and Madilyn Mae Rowan both of Decatur; parents, Benjamin D. and Karen Rowan of Hamilton, MI; brother, Robert L. Rowan of Wichita, KS; sister, Julie A. Lutz Fred of Wichita, KS; grandfather, Robert Betten of Holland, MI; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many foster children including, Thomas K. Brown, Christina, Savannah, and Joseph.
David was greeted in Heaven by his brother, Daniel D. Rowan, and grandmothers, Alyce Zufall and Arlowa Betten.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 18, 2012 in First Baptist Church, 1320 Arbor Drive, Decatur. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to his children’s education fund.
