David Leon Yonikus' Obituary
David Leon Yonikus, 90, of Decatur, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 in his home.
David was born April 25, 1918, in Assumption, the son of Charles and Eva Buckett Yonikus. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, David was a member of Saints James and Patrick Catholic Church and retired from Wabash Rail Road where he worked as a pipefitter. He married Dorothy King on October 14, 1946 and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters: Therese Yonikus of Warrenville, IL, and Pamela Yonikus of Austin, TX; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers and five sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 am, Thursday, July 10, 2008 in St. James Catholic Church; visitation one hour before the mass. Burial: Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
