Deborah Sue Livingston's Obituary
Deborah “Debbie” Sue Manners Livingston, 59, of Forsyth, IL passed away, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 22, 2009 in Manor Care/Heartland Nursing Home in Decatur.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday November 28, 2009 in Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Cox officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 ' 7:00 PM Friday evening in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Deborah was born on February 5, 1950 in Decatur the daughter of James A. and Bess Manners. She attended Eisenhower High School; she went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in education from Illinois State University in 1971 and 1973. Debbie married Stanford G. Livingston on July 28, 1978 in Decatur. She worked for the Decatur Public Schools for 31 years as a first and second grade teacher at Brush College and as assistant principal at Mound Middle School. She later worked as the principal of Indian Trails Middle School in Plainfield, IL for three years where she officially retired from Illinois Public School System. Debbie allowed her love for students to then drive her to Hazelwood West Middle School in Jefferson City, MO for two years where she fulfilled the role of assistant principal. Debbie was a member of NEA 9National education Association and was a facilitator for AIMS Activities Integrating Math and Science across the Illinois Public School System.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Stan; children, Stanford G. Livingston II and wife Julia of Decatur; Jarrod T. Livingston of Carbondale, IL; aunts, Barbara Jay and husband Don; Blossom Bacopolus all of Phoenix, AZ; and her seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Butch Manners.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Manor Care/ Heartland facilities for all their loving care and attention for Debbie.
