DeMarkus Jamal Raphael Rice age 24, of Decatur, IL was called home to glory at 5:36 a.m. on August 15, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
His services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday August 20, 2012 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown, IL.
DeMarkus was born on March 15, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL. DeMarkus was once asked the question, do you know the Lord? He simply replied, 'Yes for life'. He was a lover of God, and he was always reminding people to stay encouraged. His Heart was full of nothing but love for everyone. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend and most of all a Dreamer. DeMarkus was an employee of G & D Integrated where he was a builder.
He is survived by his Mother Verkeitha Evans, Father Vincent Carson, Grandmother C. Etta Rice, his brothers Brandon Wells, Tristan Rice, Vincent Carson Jr., Randy Evans, his Sister Chambrielle Evans, nephew Keelan Rice, his Uncles Stewart Carson, Jerome (Pearl) Carson, Rev. Tony Carson, Calvin Carson, Ken (Leslie) Carson of Deluth GA, Finous Carson of Carthage, MS. His Aunts Darla (Joe) Ganley, Paulette Miller of Carpentersville, IL, Christy Miller of Champaign, IL, Rona (Calvin) Beasley, Rinda Carson and Linda (Calvin) Graves. A host of Great Uncles, Great Aunts, Cousins and other family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alice and John Wesley Carson Jr., grandfather, Willie Grier, his great grandmother Alice Rice, and his childhood friend Dustin Fields.
