Dewayne C. Deaton's Obituary
Dewayne C. Deaton, 62, of Decatur, died September 15, 2009.
Dewayne was born March 26, 1947, in Ada, Oklahoma, one of seven children of Ray Sr. and Geneva Franklin Deaton. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator. Dewayne had a free spirit, and he enjoyed creating all kinds of art. He loved collecting and listening to music, and especially enjoyed this hobby with his nephew, Brian.
Surviving are his wife of over 33 years, Myrna; his mother, Geneva; one daughter, Jennifer Peter Deaton-Jester; two grandchildren, Nate and Zoe; four brothers, Mike Judy; Gary Debby; Jim Ramona; Ray Jr.; two sisters, Donna Mark; Sharon Ron; and his faithful dog, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray, Sr.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Friday, September 18, 2009, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers; donations may be made in his honor to Carl Cancer Center, 1701 W. Curtis Road, Champaign, IL, 61822.
