Diana R. Dial's Obituary
Decatur-Diana R. Dial, 70, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 in St. John's Hospital.
Diana was born March 22, 1942 in Kankakee, the daughter of Hubert and Frances (Dieckhoff) Dial. She was the valedictorian of St. Teresa High School class of 1960. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO, and her Master's Degree in Literature from the University of Illinois Springfield. She was a teacher at St. Teresa High School retiring after thirty-eight years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and loved her pugs.
She leaves behind her sister Nancy Dial of Springfield, nephew Mike Dial and fiancée Carrie Rojek of South Carolina, aunts Dorothy Durbin of Decatur and Jacque White and husband Bill of Decatur, and her cousins and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Diana's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3850 Lourdes Drive Decatur, with Rev. Rick Weltin Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Teresa High School.
