Diana Kay Sawyer's Obituary
Diana Kay Sawyer, 60, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away December 8, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Diana was born in Decatur on October 3, 1964, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Pritts) Neibuhr. She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital and later as a housekeeper for a hotel. She was truly a people person who had a way of drawing people in. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. When she did have time to herself, she loved watching MAS*H and Law & Order: SVU.
Diana is survived by her daughters Heather (Richard) Grider of Decatur and Rebecka (Brad) Warnick of Decatur; stepdaughter Nicole (Patrick) Parker of Jasper, TN; siblings Steve Neibuhr of Wichita, KS and Debra (Robert) Wheeler of Lincoln, IL; grandchildren Novelee, Kolbee, Wylee, Harlee, Jerzee, Christopher, Jesse, Carson, Jaxson, Jessilea, Anthony, Mychal, and Elijah; great-granddaughters Kinsley and Kaislea; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband Tony Dickerson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am and will be followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial in Pleasant View Cemetery in Assumption will follow the service.
