Dolores Caroline Aydt's Obituary
Dolores Caroline Aydt, 95, of Mt. Zion, IL, died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Heritage Health of Mt. Zion.
Dolores was born March 26, 1923 in Dahlgren, IL, the daughter of Clemens J. and France H. (Nice) Aydt. She married John Robert Aydt, Jr. On March 25, 1946 in Dahlgren, IL.
She was a member of St. James and Patrick Parish. Dolores loved gathering family for holiday meals. She always had the knack for being able to turn a house into a home. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and canning.
Surviving are her children Patricia A. Wall (Roger) of Decatur, Mark R. Aydt (Vicki) of Moweaqua, Bonita K. Aydt of Decatur; brother. Clemens J. Aydt (Margaret) of Dahlgren, IL; sister, Anna M. Sturman of McLeansboro, IL; grandchildren, LaCosta Shugart (Chad), Jess Shonkwiler (Johanna), Bobbi Jo Aydt (Rick Maples), Joseph Wall; eight great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Aydt, Jr., both parents, two brothers, Philip S. and Clyde A., one grandson and one great grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church. Prayer service will be at 4:30 PM Thursday, May 31, 2018 with visitation to follow from 5-7 PM, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
