Dolores Jean Brady's Obituary
Dolores Jean Brady, 87, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dolores was born on October 9, 1933, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Tipsword) Harrington. She worked as a lab technician for St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. She married William “Bill” Brady on February 4, 1956. Together they were charter members of Holy Family Parish. Dolores was a true “Church Lady,” enthusiastically supporting the many social and faith-building activities of her beloved parish. She was known to all as a loving mother/grandmother and a beautiful soul.
Dolores is survived by her children Erin (Michael) Braye of Cape Coral FL, Julie (Chris) Hargrove of Decatur, Robin (Valerie) Brady of Dayton OH, Shawn (Mick) Geller of Canonsburg PA, and Jean (Jeff) Zerfowski of Decatur; grandchildren Chad, Cody, Jessica, Jordan, and Steven; great-grandchildren Colton, Sophia, Caylee, Joshua, and Elliott; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and four brothers.
Dolores’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Fr. Joe Molloy from Holy Family and Karen from Heartland for their attentive care over the years.
A memorial service for Dolores will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16 at Holy Family Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Decatur at a later date.
